Rickard Wallin follows the Monster

As speculated in this blog a few days ago the Leafs have lured the Monster’s teammate and Captain of the Farjestads team of the Swedish Elite League, Rickard Wallin.
The 29 year old center is 6’2” and 185 pounds and he is part of the more combative Swedish imports that are accustomed to playing the North American brand of hockey, in recent years.
It is another no-lose kind of signing as he comes onboard for one season at less than $1M. for the Leafs.
He has been a pretty consistent scorer over his career in the Elite League, having averaged just under a point per game over the last four seasons.
Prior to that, he toiled in the American Hockey League for the Houston Aeros, the farm club of the Minnesota Wild.
He has also played 19 games at the NHL level and tallied 10 points for the Wild.
In short, if he makes the Leafs and contributes anything offensively this could some money well spent by GM Brian Burke.
